    • A charge pumping circuit is provided to improve the layout and the peak current by reducing the number of charge pumps operating in DRAM at the same time. A charge pumping circuit comprises a high voltage sensor(20), a high voltage oscillator(22) and a plurality of high voltage pumps(24a,24b). The high voltage sensor senses the high voltage and outputs the control signal. The high voltage oscillator outputs the clock signal(OSC1,OSC2,OSC3) having the different phases according to the control signal of the high voltage sensor. The high voltage oscillator is controlled by the bank active control sign(LDVDL). A plurality of high voltage pumps is arranged in a plurality of regions with the dispersion. A pair of high voltage pumps is arranged in one region. One out of a pair of high voltage pumps receives the clock signal through an inverter.

    • A PMS(Power Management System) in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to extend the range of output voltage and obtain a cost saving effect by replacing DCDC converters with inexpensive LDO(Low-Drop Out) regulators. A PMS(200) in a portable terminal comprises a first voltage regulation part(220), a second voltage regulation part(250), and a switching part(230). The first voltage regulation part, composed of one or more DCDC converters, converts the level of power, supplied from an external source, into the first level. The second voltage regulation part, composed of one or more LDO regulators, converts the level of power, supplied from the first voltage regulation part or the external source, into the second level. The switching part, composed of one or more switches, switches the output of either the external source or the first voltage regulation part to the second voltage regulation part. The output level of the first voltage regulation part and the output level of the second voltage regulation part are within a certain range.
