    • PURPOSE: A parallax barrier panel and a display device including the same are provided to enable to perform conversion between 2D image and 3D image and to apply natural tracking. CONSTITUTION: A parallax barrier panel includes a first substrate (210), a second substrate (220) and a fluid layer (230). The first substrate includes a main electrode, a number of first electrode parts, a water-repellent layer and a barrier wall arranged on the water-repellent layer. The main electrode is extended along a first direction on a first base substrate. The first electrode parts include a first notch electrode and a second notch electrode. The first notch electrode and the second notch electrode are extended along the main electrode and are arranged on both end sides of the main electrode respectively. The water-repellent layer is arranged on the first electrode parts. The second substrate includes a second electrode part formed on a second base substrate facing with the first substrate. The fluid layer is arranged between the first and the second substrates, and changes light transmittance according to the voltage difference between the first electrode parts and the second electrode part.

    • PURPOSE: A display apparatus switchable between transmissive mode and reflective mode are provided to selectively use all liquid crystal cells in transmissive mode according to an external light amount or use all liquid crystal cells in reflective mode. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(10) is formed in the lower part of the first polarizer(5). The liquid crystal layer controls transmittance of an incident light by electric control. A light absorption layer(25) is formed in the lower part of the backlight unit. A diffusing plate is formed on the top of the first polarizer.     • A front light unit of a flat display panel is provided to improve the contrast ratio by locating front polarizer at a front side of a light guide plate, thereby reducing noise light which is generated at the front surface from the light guided plate or display panel. A front light unit comprises a light source(110), a light guide plate(130), a polarizer(150), and a reflection prevention layer. The light guide plate has the front side guiding the light coming out in the optical source section, and faces to the rear side in which the guided light comes out and faces to the rear side. The front surface polarizer has the polarized light device which is arranged to be faced in the front side of the light guide plate and passes through only the light of the task polarization direction. The reflection prevention layer is formed on exterior in which the external light of the polarized light device is incident.

    • An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device with an improved viewing angle and luminance is provided to enable light polarized by a polarizing light guide plate to be incident on an LCD panel, thereby minimize a loss of the light by an absorbing polarizing plate and improving optical efficiency to acquire high luminance with low power consumption and maintaining constant luminance. An LCD device includes a light source unit(100), a polarizing light guide plate(200), an LCD panel(300), and a diffusing layer(390). The polarizing light guide plate has a light incident surface(210a) on which non-polarizing light radiated from the light source unit is incident, and polarizes and collimates, and emits the incident light. The LCD panel modulates the light emitted from the polarizing light guide plate to form an image. The diffusing layer diffuses the light modulated in the LCD panel.

    • A method for manufacturing a wire grid polarizer is provided to easily form a fine wire grid from metal paste by pressing a stamp with the wire grid pattern on the metal paste. A wire grid polarizer includes a transparent substrate(10) and plural wire grids(14). The wire grids are formed in a stripe pattern on the transparent substrate. A width(W), height(H), and a lattice period(P) of the wire grid are varied according to optical designs. A diffractive lattice has a period greater than a wavelength of the light. The light passing through the diffractive lattice is resolved into plural diffractive beams. When the lattice period is smaller than the half of the wavelength, the incident light(L) is resolved into S-wave reflective beam(Ls) and a P-wave passing beam(Lp).
