    • Method for monitoring the usage of a service by a communication device coupled to a tamper resistant module, in particular a smart card. A said service is transmitted from a resource able to communicate with said communication device by way of a network. The service comprises a plurality of encrypted data flow and its use comprises successive decryption steps of data flow by a respective first key EK, said first key EK being encrypted in the data flow and decrypted in the tamper resistant module by way of a second key KEK stored in said tamper resistant module or derived inside said module. The invention is characterized in that said method comprises the following steps: a. A counting step, in which a memory location stores a count of occurrences of decryption steps of said first key EK attached to a same service; b. A using step, in which said counter is used to prove the amount of data flow which has been decrypted.

CONSTITUTION: A system for receiving digital multimedia broadcasting limitatively includes first and second communication networks(610,620), and mobile communication terminals(110-130) for playing digital multimedia broadcasting. Repeaters(410-440) scramble transmission streams received from a digital multimedia broadcasting transmission tower(500) to transmit the same to the mobile communication terminals. A server(300) provides keys for scrambling to the repeaters via the first communication network and to the mobile communication terminals via the second communication network.

    • PURPOSE: A composite scramble release apparatus for a plurality of scrambled digital broadcasting streams in a broadcasting communication fusion system and an optical subscriber network applying the same are provided to allow a user to watch all MPTSs(MultiProgram Transmission Streams) provided from the broadcasting communication fusion system using only one set-top box. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiving unit(31) receives an MPTS from the outside, and transmits PID(Program ID) information of the MPTS to a control unit(33). A switch(32) receives the MPTS from the broadcasting receiving unit, switches an MPTS which is scrambled and an MPTS which is not scrambled, and outputs the switched MPTS. A plurality of descramblers(34-1,34-2) descramble the scrambled MPTS in the MPTS switched through the switch, and output the descrambled MPTS. The control unit receives PID information from the broadcasting receiving unit, and controls the switch so that an MPTS necessary for being descrambled is switched to the descramblers.
