    • Disclosed is an educational multistage distillation column. The educational multistage distillation column according to the present invention includes: an upper housing which is connected with a condenser in order to be able to circulate and collect steam which is discharged by being vaporized from the inside after a condensation; a lower housing which is connected with a re-boiler in order to be able to circulate, vaporize and reinject liquid which is discharged from the inside; a central housing which is installed between the upper housing and the lower housing and is formed to move steam and liquid in the up and down direction; and limiting films which are interposed between the lower housing and the central housing and between the central housing and the upper housing and are formed with a hydrophobic porous film in order to block the movement of liquid and allow the movement of steam. The upper housing, the lower housing, and the central housing are formed so that at least one part is made of a transparent material in order to observe the inside. The present invention is able to: smoothly perform a selective penetration of gas while preventing a leakage by dividing each of stages which form the upper housing, the lower housing, and the central housing with the hydrophobic porous film; observe distillation processes in a state in which the inside form of the distillation column is not distorted by making the upper housing, the lower housing, and the central housing can be assembled as a transparent material of a quadrangle; and easily confirm an effect which influences the stages of the distillation column about the separation efficiency of distillation according to free controls of the stages.

The separation efficiency of the mist is drastically increased by comprising the complex filament mesh which is formed by weaving a filament with the material of teflon resin, fiberglass, polypropylene and wire of stainless steel material, thereby reducing a pressure loss, and increasing specific surfacearea. The optimum separation efficiency is provided according to the range of the mist which is desired to be separated by properly arranging a second pad which comprises the stainless steel wire mesh and a first pad which comprises the complex filament mesh.

    • The object is to provide a specific process for production of a dialkyl carbonate and a diol using a cyclic carbonate and a monohydric aliphatic alcohol as raw materials, by a reaction distillation method in which the raw materials are fed continuously into a continuous multi-stage distillation column containing a catalyst to achieve both the reaction and the distillation simultaneously in the column, wherein the dialkyl carbonate and the diol can be produced stably for a long period in an industrial scale of 2 tons or more per hour and 1.3 tons or more per hour, respectively, with high selectivities and high yields. Although various process for production of a dialkyl carbonate and a diol by a reaction distillation method have been proposed, these are all relate to the production at a laboratory level (i.e., a small scale and a short production period). There has been no disclosure about a process or apparatus for the industrial-scale mass production of a dialkyl carbonate and a diol. Thus, disclosed are a specific continuous multi-stage distillation column having such a constitution that a dialkyl carbonate and a diol can be produced stably for a period of 1000 hours or longer, preferably 3000 hours or longer, more preferably 5000 hours or longer, in an industrial scale of 2 tons or more per hour and 1.3 tons or more per hour, respectively, and at a selectivity of 95% or higher for the both, preferably 97% or higher, more preferably 99% or higher; the raw materials are fed into a specific stage of the distillation column; and a production process using the distillation column.
