    • A transmission apparatus of a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to supply an efficient transmission mode according to a channel state by referring the number of soft-decision data extracted based on response data received from a receiving terminal. A transmission apparatus of a wireless communication system includes a transceiving module(130), a modulator(110), and a demodulator(120). The transceiving module(130) transceives data with a receiving terminal. The modulator(110) performs modulation for a received data bit by a transmission mode. The modulator(110) transmits the modulated data to the transceiving module(130). The demodulator(120) includes a first variable, a second variable, and a third variable. The first variable counts receiving success. The second variable counts receiving failure. The third variable counts re-transmission of the data. The demodulator changes the first variable, the second variable, and the third variable according to receiving of the response data corresponding to the modulation data. The demodulator extracts the number of data which satisfy a specific value by demodulating the response data, and determines the transmission mode based on the number of the data, the first variable, the second variable, and the third variable.

    • A channel estimating method in accordance with a change in a channel of a wireless LAN system, a channel estimating apparatus for implementing the same, and a receiving apparatus are provided to improve system performance by making a reception processing delay satisfy an SIFS(Short Inter-Frame space) in a wireless LAN system through a dynamic delay structure corresponding to a transmission rate in a channel estimation. Because there is no restored symbol in an initial instantaneous channel estimation, an instantaneous channel is estimated by using a long preamble with respect to data of an FFT-calculated reception symbol and pilot sub-carrier(S201,S203). The FFT-calculated reception symbol is delayed for a certain time period(S205). Channel equalization is performed by using the estimated instantaneous channel estimation information(S207). De-mapping, de-interleaving and viterbi decoding are performed to demodulate the reception symbol(S209). Convolution coding, interleaving and mapping are performed to restore the demodulated reception symbol into a transmission symbol(S211). The instantaneous channel is estimated by using the delayed reception symbol and the restored symbol(S213). The estimated instantaneous channel value is filtered to determine the final channel estimated value(S215). The final channel estimated value is delayed for a certain time period according to a transmission rate and the reception symbol is demodulated by using the delayed final channel estimated value(S217).
