    • PURPOSE: An oscillator circuit using an LC resonant circuit and an L-load differential circuit mountable on the same are provided to achieve a wide oscillation frequency range and low phase noise characteristics by improving a structure of the oscillator circuit. CONSTITUTION: An oscillator circuit is used for performing oscillation by positive feedback of an LC resonant circuit. The LC resonant circuit includes a parallel resonant circuit formed with an inductance-variable part allowing variation of inductance by a switch circuit(SW1-SW3,SW1d-SW3d,SW1dd-SW3dd) and a capacitor element. The inductance-variable part includes first and second input/output terminals, a spiral interconnection layer, and a plurality of switch circuits. The spiral interconnection layer is formed from the first input/output terminal and to an interlayer insulating film of a semiconductor substrate. The switch circuits has first terminals connected to arbitrary positions on the interconnection layer and the second terminals commonly connected to the second input/output terminal. When one of the switch circuits is turned on, the position on the interconnection layer connected to the turned-on switch circuit is electrically coupled to the second input/output terminal.

    • PURPOSE: A voltage controlled oscillator having a constant gain in a wide frequency bandwidth and a method for the same are provided to have a low noise characteristics and to implement a wide frequency bandwidth at a low supplying voltage of the IC. CONSTITUTION: A voltage controlled oscillator having a constant gain in a wide frequency bandwidth includes a transconductance amplifier(100), an inductor(110), a non-switched varactor(120), a plurality of switched capacitors(130) and a varactor(140). The transconductance amplifier(100) generates the amplified oscillation signal having a resonance frequency changed in response to the overall inductance and the overall capacitance and outputs the generated signal to the oscillation signal output terminal. The inductor(110) supplies the overall inductance. The non-switched varactor(120) changes the capacitance corresponding to the change of the control voltage inputted to the control voltage input terminal and contributes the change of the overall capacitance. The plurality of switched capacitors(130) is provided with a plurality of digital switches controlled by a predetermined control circuit and a plurality of capacitors connected to the digital switches. The switched capacitors(130) supply the capacitance to each of the capacitors. And, the varactor(140) is connected to the digital switches and changes its capacitance corresponding to the change of the control voltage.

    • PURPOSE: A dual band voltage control oscillation circuit is provided to select and oscillate low and high band frequencies using one voltage control oscillator without prior two oscillation circuits, thereby realizing compact size and reducing costs. CONSTITUTION: A dual band voltage control oscillation circuit comprises a capacitor circuit unit(32), a switching circuit unit(33), a resonance circuit unit(31) and an oscillation circuit unit(35). The switching circuit unit(33) turns the parallel connection with the unit(32) and the unit(31) ON/OFF. The resonance circuit unit(31) and an oscillation circuit unit(35) resonates the frequency decided by capacitance micro-controlled by a tuning voltage(VT), inductance and the capacitance of the unit(32). The oscillation circuit unit(35) oscillates the resonance frequency of the unit(31).
