    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting a temperature are provided to precisely detect the temperature of an object by using an inexpensive temperature detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION: A temperature detecting apparatus includes output ports(P1,P2) for outputting a temperature detecting control signal to detect a temperature, a capacitor(C1), a microcomputer(10) having an input port(P3) for detecting a charged voltage level of the capacitor(C1), a temperature setting section(11) and a thermal detecting sensor(12). Resistance of the temperature setting section(11) is varied depending on the temperature. The temperature setting section(11) includes a variable resistance and the temperature corresponding to varied resistance is indicated through a notch mark. The thermal detecting sensor(12) includes a thermister, in which an electric resistance value becomes lower as the temperature is increased. The capacitor(C1) is positioned between a common node and a grounded terminal. The microcomputer(10) outputs a temperature detecting control signal to the thermal detecting sensor(12) and the temperature setting section(11) through output ports(P1,P2).
