    • PURPOSE: To provide a method for stably manufacturing a polarizer containing a polyvinylalcohol film with high stretch scaling factor. CONSTITUTION: In the method for manufacturing a polarizer performing to the polyvinylalcohol film at least a step of stretching treatment, a step of dyeing treatment, and a step of boron compound treatment; the stretching treatment is performed at least twice so that a total of stretch scaling factors becomes 5.5 times or more. After the second time stretching treatment, the stretching treatment with 1.2 times or more of the scaling factors is performed in wet stretching treatment using the difference of peripheral speeds between a first pinch roll and a second pinch roll. In the wet stretching treatment, the film carried from the first pinch roll is passed through a first guide roll so as to form an embracing angle (A) of 120-175° at the first guide roll to which the film contacts at the first.
