    • A compliant plate seal for turbomachinery is provided to remarkably reduce leakage in an axial direction due to coupling of a flow blocking part in a seal front end and a seal bottom part. A compliant plate seal for turbomachinery includes a turbine fixing shell(15), a housing(14), a rotor(12), a plurality of compliant plate members(16), an axial direction flow resistance member, and at least one ring(18). The housing is fixed to the turbine fixing shell. A shaft seal reduces an axial leak between the housing and the rotor. The compliant plate members are fixed to the housing. The axial direction flow resistance member is disposed in the compliant plate members to act as a barrier against axial leakage. The at least one ring extends into a circumferential slot(20) in the compliant plate member in a radial direction.
