摘要： An apparatus and a method for selecting multiantenna transmission schemes n a broadcasting system are provided to support broadcasting services for new terminals requiring high-resolution broadcasting quality by selecting a multiantenna transmission scheme in accordance with each broadcasting service and transmitting signals in a time division scheme or a space-time division scheme according to each antenna. A transmitting block executes video coding and creates an HP(High Priority bit stream) signal and an LP(Low Priority bit stream) signal(401). Then the transmitting block executes modulation to transmit the HP signal in a diversity scheme(403). Also the transmitting block executes modulation to transmit the LP signal in a spatial multiplexing scheme(405). After modulating the HP signal and the LP signal, the transmitting block confirms a time division scheme to transmit the HP signal and the LP signal through Tx antennas(407). Then the transmitting block transmits the HP signal and the LP signal through their respective Tx antennas according to the confirmed time division scheme(409).
