    • PURPOSE: A digital transport stream processor of a digital set top box is provided to process both of ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) data streams and IP(Internet procotol) data streams. CONSTITUTION: A digital transport stream processor of a digital set top box(100) includes a data receiver(101,102), an ATM cell extractor(103), a transport stream construction unit(106), and a data converter(107,108). The data receiver is connected to an xDSL port and Ethernet port to receive ATM or IP digital broadcasting data or VOD(Video On Demand) data from an ATM network or an IP network and judges whether the received data is ATM data, IP over ATM data or IP data. The ATM cell extractor judges whether the data received from the data receiver is an ATM-based MPEG transport stream or IP packet data and, when the data is the MPEG transport stream, extracts an effective cell from ATM cells corresponding to the MPEG transport stream. The transport stream construction unit removes head information and overhead information from the effective cell and reconstructs an ATM cell from which the overhead information has been removed to construct an MPEG transport stream. The data converter converts the MPEG transport stream such that the MPEG transport stream is displayed on an image display system(200).

    • PURPOSE: A device for searching a preamble in an asynchronous mobile communication system and a method therefor are provided to determine the frequency of adding outputted correlation values to currently accumulated correlation values, to control an entire correlation length, thereby increasing a detection probability of an access preamble. CONSTITUTION: A Hadamard converter(420) outputs correlation values by symbol. If the correlation values are outputted from the Hadamard converter(420) for the first time, each adder of an adder portion(430) outputs the inputted correlation values. The outputted correlation values are stored in a buffer(440). If the correlation values are not outputted for the first time, correlation values stored in the buffer(440) are supplied as other inputs. Each adder of the adder portion(430) adds the correlation values supplied from the Hadamard converter(420) to the correlation values supplied from the buffer(440), and stores the added correlation values in the buffer(440). The correlation values stored by symbol in the buffer(440) are outputted if all correlations are carried out.
