    • PURPOSE: A shaping apparatus and method in consideration of energy distribution characteristic of a voice signal are provided to improve sound quality of a voice CODEC. CONSTITUTION: A shaping apparatus in consideration of energy distribution characteristic of a voice signal includes an encoder(210) and a decoder(220). The encoder pre-processes an input audio signal that is a voiceless sound or surrounding noise, and fast-Fourier-transforms the input audio signal. The encoder compares energies of respective bands for frequencies divided based on characteristics of the voiceless sound or surrounding noise and finds a band flag indicating energy distribution characteristic. The decoder carries out shaping in consideration of band characteristic of the original audio signal transmitted from the encoder.
