    • A method and an apparatus for treating exhaust gas are provided to purify acidic exhaust gas and prevent the generation of white smoke simultaneously, by using a wet purification chamber and an external mixing chamber. Hydrophilic cloud nuclei are formed within an exhaust gas by passing the exhaust gas through a wet purification chamber(10) where a hydrophilic alkali solution is sprayed. The exhaust gas passed by the wet purification chamber is supplied through a first inlet(91) of an air mixing chamber(96). The exhaust gas is mixed to external gas of low temperature to supersaturate and condense vapor included in the exhaust gas, and the condensed vapor is collided with the hydrophilic cloud nuclei to drop in a water droplet state within the air mixing chamber. External air is supplied to a second inlet(92) of the air mixing chamber, and mixed to the exhaust gas at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure within the air mixing chamber. The external air has a lower temperature than the exhaust gas passed by the wet purification chamber. The mixture of the external air and the exhaust gas is discharged through an outlet of the air mixing chamber.
