A cutter head for a cutter type excavator is formed by two cutter motors on the bottom of a box type structure, wherein each cutter motor includes a fixing plate(20), two cutter drums(22,24) mounted on the fixing plate symmetrically, a mounting structure(26) including an end portion(29) and a mounting assembly(30), a single hydraulic motor(32) mounted in the mounting assembly and equipped with an outlet shaft having two ends, plural conduits(50) formed in the thickness of the fixing plate, plural ducts(52) formed in the end portion of the mounting structure to connect the hydraulic motor to the conduits, two rims(42,44) connected to two ends(40a,40b) of a shaft(40) of the hydraulic motor to rotate the cutter drums, two sets of bearings(46,48) mounted on the outside of the mounting assembly and the outside of the end portion of the mounting structure respectively, wherein the hydraulic motor and the end portion of the mounting structure are deviated in the perpendicular direction to the fixing plate, and the bearings mounted to the mounting assembly are placed to coincide with a portion of the hydraulic motor. In addition, the cutter motor includes a system controlling fluids supplied by one of the conduits and one of the ducts, thereby controlling variation in the cylinder capacity of the hydraulic motor.
