摘要： The present invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a display device for power saving thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method for controlling a display device is to control luminance of a display unit to save power of the display device including the display unit for displaying a screen. The method for controlling a display device comprises the steps of: calculating first luminance which is current luminance in the display unit and second luminance which is to be changed in the display unit considering the constant K determined according to the Weber′s law; and changing the luminance to the second luminance in the display unit. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the screen brightness can be controlled based on a minimum brightness difference that a user can identify, thereby reducing power consumption of the display device while preventing the user from recognizing the brightness change in the display unit.
