    • An anode active material mixed with carbon nanofiber for a lithium secondary battery is provided to maintain high cycleability even in the high charging and discharging condition and to be used for a cathode material of the high capacity lithium secondary battery like a cellular phone, PDA, DMB phone and medium- to large-sized battery for electromobile. An anode active material for a lithium secondary battery is produced by dispersing a catalyst on the surface of active material selected from graphite, amorphous silicon or a composite of graphite and amorphous silicon, and vapor-growing the carbon nano fiber in the presence of a carbon source. The surface of active material is dipped with the transition metal catalyst particles of nano-size. The carbon nano fiber is grown on the active material dipped in the catalyst particles to the vapor deposition. The carbon nano fiber mixes and surrounds the anode active material in the form of vine.
