    • A sugar alcohol eutectic that is free from problems on production, such as requirement of addition of a relatively large amount of seed crystal charged in crystallization, requirement of prolonged aging for several days to attain crystal growth and inefficient cumbersome production process, and that excels in taste quality, exhibiting low moisture absorption, and that excels in homogeneity, pulverizability and non-agglomerating property; and a process for producing the same. There is provided a process for producing a sugar alcohol eutectic exhibiting a single melting peak in differential scanning calorimetry, characterized in that a liquid composition containing two or more types of sugar alcohols in a given ratio is loaded with a powder containing a crystal of the same two or more types of sugar alcohols in substantially the same ratio as that of the above sugar alcohols, blended together and aged. Further, there is provided a sugar alcohol eutectic exhibiting a single melting peak in differential scanning calorimetry, produced by the above process.

    • PURPOSE: Provided are a pulverized mannitol having a uniform particle size, high density, excellent fluidity, high mannitol content and a rapid dissolution rate into water, and a process for its preparation. CONSTITUTION: The pulverized mannitol has an average diameter of 60-200(preferably 80-180) micrometer, a packed density(measured by Test A given in the specification) of 0.65-0.85(preferably 0.7-0.8) g/ml and a flow rating of at least 60(preferably 60-90). A content of the mannitol is at least 96 wt%, preferably 98 wt%. The mannitol has a dissolution rate in water(according to Test B) of 20-60 seconds. The pulverized mannitol is prepared by wet-granulation of powdered mannitol using a binder(preferably in a continuous mixer-granulator) followed by maturing the product by drying.
