    • PURPOSE: Expandable polystyrene is provided to have excellent insulation and heat storage, and to able to reduce energy, not to remove phase change material, and not to degrade functions of phase change material. CONSTITUTION: Expandable polystyrene comprises 100.0 parts by weight of a styrene based resin, 0.1-10 parts by weight of a phase change material, and additionally 3-12 parts by weight of blowing agent. The phase change material is a paraffin expressed by CnH2n+2(n is a natural number from 15-20), an aliphatic acid expressed by CH3(CH2)2mCOOH(m is a natural number from 1-50), or mixtures thereof. The melting point of the phase change material is 15-35 °C. The phase change material is covalently bonded to the main chain of a styrene baser resin. A manufacturing method of the expandable polystyrene comprises: a step of suspension-polymerizing a reaction solution comprising a styrene based monomer, an initiator, and a phase change material; a step of manufacturing the expandable polystyrene by putting a blowing agent into a polymer suspension polymerized polymer.
