摘要： 금속이나 실리콘대신 기판을 플라스틱을 사용한 소형 고분자전해질 연료전지를 개발하였다. 플라스틱에 스퍼터링 등에 의해 금속을 코팅해 플라스틱판이 집전체 역할을 하면서 또 플라스틱에 유로를 형성시켜 보통 그래파이트 재료로 만드는 분리판 역할도 하게 하였다. 플라스틱은 유연성이 있어 사용하기 편리한 점이 있으나 이 성질 때문에 외부에서 압력을 가해 연료전지 요소 간 접합이 어려운 점이 있었다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 접착제를 사용하였는데 접착제 성분과 전도성 성분을 혼합하지 않고 분리해 사용하는 방법으로 전도성과 접착성을 동시에 살릴 수 있었다. 그리고 NaBH
4 를 솜에 혼합 후 압착해 만든 펠릿에 물을 주사해 가수분해방법으로 수소를 공급하는 방법 등을 특징으로 하는 발명이다.
