    • PURPOSE: A cubic phase containing a surfactant-coumarin conjugate fixed on an aqueous micro-channel is provided to ensure photo-responsive release property and to control release of a hydrophilic target material by UV irradiation. CONSTITUTION: A photo-responsive cubic phase contains a surfactant-coumarin conjugate fixed on an aqueous channel of a monoolein cubic phase. The release of a target material is controlled by irradiating with light. A method for preparing the photo-responsive cubic phase comprises: a step of performing covalent bond of coumarin at a hydrophilic head part of a surfactant and preparing a surfactant-coumarin conjugate; a step of mixing the surfactant-coumarin conjugate with monoolein and melting to prepare a mixture solution; and a step of hydrating the mixture solution and preparing a cubic phase.
