摘要： A print head, a head cartridge and a printer using one of the print head and the head cartridge are provided to reduce the number of input pads so as to minimize the increase in the size and cost of the printer. A print head(3) includes a logic circuit(504), a differential input circuit(503) and input pads. The logic circuit drives a plurality of printing elements by a plurality of logic signals. The differential input circuit generates the plurality of logic signals to drive the logic circuit based on a differential signal inputted from an external device. The differential signal is acquired by superposing at least two logic signals and inputted through the input pad. The differential input circuit includes a disassembling circuit for disassembling the differential signal into individual logic signals.

摘要： PURPOSE: A transferring method of information to a printhead and its apparatus are provided to reduce the cost of the printhead. CONSTITUTION: An inkjet printing system includes an inkjet printhead having a plurality of electrical contacts, address contacts and enable contacts for enabling drop generators and drive current contacts for providing drive current to enable drop generators for selectively ejecting ink therefrom. A printing device provides periodic address signals(A(1-13)) and enable signals(E(1-2)) to the address and enable contacts one the printhead. In addition, the printing device selectively applies drive current(P(1-16)) to accomplish forming images on print media. Each individual heating element is controlled by a drive circuit comprising three FET(Field Effect Transistor). By controlling the first and second signals(E(1,2)), and the address signal(A(1)), the switching device is selectively activated to conduct current through the heating element if drive current is present from drive source(P(1)).

摘要： An inkjet print head and a method for selectively activating drop-generating units are provided to address drop generators with significantly fewer electrical interconnection operations, thereby reducing the costs of the print head and improving the reliability of the print head. An inkjet print head(24) comprises first and second drop generators disposed thereon. Each of the drop generators receives a drive current from a drive current source. Each of the drop generators receives an address signal from a common address source. The inkjet print head further comprises a switching device connected between the common address source and each of the drop generators. The switching device is responsive to enable signals to apply the address signal to only one of the drop generators selectively.

摘要： There is disclosed an ink jet printhead which comprises a plurality of nozzles (3) and one or more heater elements (10) corresponding to each nozzle. Each heater element is configured to heat a bubble (12) forming liquid in the printhead to a temperature above its boiling point to form a gas bubble therein. The generation of the bubble causes the ejection of a drop (16) of an ejectable liquid (such as ink) through respective corresponding nozzle, to effect printing. Each heater element is in the form of a beam suspended over at least a portion of the bubble forming liquid so as to be in thermal contact therewith. This configuration of printhead provides for a relatively high efficiency of operation.
