    • PURPOSE: A differential gear is provided to obtain an adequate differential operation limiting action even under heavy loading and to be capable of appropriately switching a differential operation condition and a differential operation limiting condition. CONSTITUTION: A differential gear includes a differential gear case(11) moving freely in the direction of a wheel axle to be incapable of relative turning. A pair of left and right pressure rings(12) installed inside the differential gear case set up the inner diameter of pressure rings in larger than side gears(15). A pair of clutch device(16) are deployed on both sides of the two pressure rings in the direction of the wheel axle. An urging device(18) pressurizes the two pressure rings in the direction of a clearance(17) between the two pressure rings to be narrowed. An actuation device(19) actuates the pressure rings against the urging force of the urging device in the direction of the clearance between the two pressure rings to be increased in accordance with increasing of the relative turning torque between a pinion shaft(13) and the differential case in differential operation, and operates the clutch device.

    • A differential apparatus is provided to prevent generation of frictional noise of a clutch disk by supplying lubricating oil from a combination part between a side gear and a clutch disk from to a gap between sliding surfaces of clutch disks. A differential apparatus(10) includes a clutch unit(16) having a first clutch disk(12) and a second clutch disk(14). The first clutch disk is rotated by the side gear. The second clutch disk is rotated by a differential case(13). A lubricating oil supply unit(40) supplies lubricating oil from a combination part(17) between the side gear and the clutch disk to a gap between sliding surfaces of the first and second clutch disks.

    • A differential gear that can switch from differential movement state to limited differential movement has: a pair of pressure rings 12 in a differential case 11 able to move in the direction of the axles but unable to rotate relatively; clutches 16 on opposite sides of the pressure rings 12 that limit differential movement between the left and right axles 1 by limiting the relative rotation of the differential case 11 and side gears 15; the pressure rings 12 are urged so as to decrease the clearance 17 between the pressure rings 12 but the clearance is increased by relative rotation torque between the pinion shaft 13 and differential case 11 in a differential state.
