A signal detected at first, when alternating magnetic fields are applied is used as the reference signal, and the generated magnetic field strength of the magnetic pulse signal successively detected based on a relation obtained according to this signal is detected, so that the IC card 1 can be identified based on the magnetic field strength obtained.
