    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a defective action without additional and large labor and time by detecting a timewise change of the location of an actuator based on prescribed current supply and detecting a deviation between a measured timewise change and a target value as a defect. SOLUTION: A pressure plate 18 of a clutch 4 can be dissociated from a frictional engagement to a clutch disc 16 by an operating lever 20. An actuator 24 is provided to operate the operating lever 20 and this actuator 24 is controlled by an electronic control device 26. A position sensor 28 for detecting the location of the actuator 24 or the operating lever 20 is connected with the control device 26. For a diagnostic purpose, voltage pulses of fixed heights and current by a prescribed pulse width are supplied to the actuator 24, for instance, and a motion of the operating lever 20 is analyzed by the position sensor 28. When a timewise result of an exit signal of the position sensor 28 is deviated from a target process, the result is detected as a defect and the result is displayed on the control device 26 or a defect display device of a diagnostic device connected with this control device 26.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the extent of frictional resistance in a sliding part between each sealing body and the counter member and thereby aim at the promotion of long service life in the sealing body by installing an intermediate cylinder in an interval between two air bypass spaces, and interposing a planetary roller type reduction gear between the intermediate cylinder and a turning shaft. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate cylinder 20 is installed in an interval between both first and second air bypass spaces 25, 26, and a planetary roller type reduction gear is interposed between this intermediate cylinder 20 and a turning cylinder shaft 8. When a clutch is engaged, this turning cylinder shaft 8 and an inner ring 22 both rotate synchronously with a turning shaft 2, and a planetary roller 23 revolves around the turning cylinder shaft 8 as rotating, synchronizing with it, a carrier pin 24 and the intermediate cylinder 20 both rotate. Since a rotational speed of the intermediate cylinder 20 becomes slower than that of the turning cylinder shaft 8 due to action of the planetary roller type reduction gear like this, the extent of frictional resistance between each of sealing bodies 92, 93 and the intermediate cylinder 20 is reduced. In addition, the rotational speed between both inner diameter side sealing bodies 94, 95 of the turning cylinder shaft 8 becomes slower as well, so that the frictional resistance is also reduced, therefore service life in each of sealing bodies 92-95 is thus prolonged.
