    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm the timing for the motions of both of a sewing machine needle and a shuttle prior to sewing, after adjusting the meeting location between the sewing machine needle and the shuttle, form favorable stitches, and reduce the number of working processes. SOLUTION: This sewing machine 1 is equipped with the sewing machine needle 3, the shuttle 4 which catches a needled thread at the distal end of the sewing machine needle, a main spindle servo motor 50 which drives the sewing machine needle 3, and a shuttle shaft servo motor 51 which drives the shuttle 4. In this case, the main spindle servo motor 50 and the shuttle shaft servo motor 51 are independently and synchronously driven for this sewing machine 1. Such a sewing machine 1 is equipped with a location-adjusting means, a confirmation key 37 which instructs a confirming motion, and a CPU11. In this case, the location-adjusting means comprises an adjusting shaft-selecting key 34, a fine adjustment increase key 36a, and a fine adjustment decrease key 36b. The adjusting shaft-selecting key 34 adjusts the positional relationship between the sewing machine needle 3 and the shuttle 4 in advance so that the sewing machine needle 3 and the tip 4a of the shuttle 4 may approach by the timing by which the needle thread can be caught. The CPU11 drives the sewing machine needle 3 and the shuttle 4 from the state adjusted by the location-adjusting means when receiving the instruction from the confirmation key 37.
