    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ruthenium hydride complex capable of efficiently reducing a base-sensitive carbonyl compound.SOLUTION: The ruthenium hydride complex is represented by general formula (1), wherein, with respect to RRP-W-PRR, W represents a binaphthyl group which bonds to P atoms at 2- and 2'-positions and may have a substituent at any of other positions, Rto Rmay be the same or different and represent a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, Rand Rmay combine together to form a carbon chain ring which may have a substituent, and Rand Rmay combine together to form a carbon chain ring which may have a substituent; Rto Rmay be the same or different and represent H or a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; Z represents a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; and each ligand of Ru may be arbitrarily arranged.
