SOLUTION: The cosmetic container has a bottomed cylindrical container body 1, a nearly cylindrical mouth portion 11 extended upward from the upper end of the container body 1 through a step portion, a lid body 3 covering the container body 1 by threadedly engaging with the thread portion 11a of the outside periphery of the mouth portion 11, and a ringlike member 2 whose inside diameter is set larger than the outside diameter of the mouth portion 11. With the ringlike member 2 arranged in the lower side of the lid body 3 and loosely fitted into the mouth portion 11, the ringlike member 2 is hingedly connected with the lid body 3. With the lid body 3 closed by threadedly engaging the lid with the mouth portion 11, the underside of the ringlike member 2 is pressure contacted with the upper end 1a of the container body 1 by the tightening force of the lid body 3. With the mouth portion 11 and the lid body 3 released from threaded engagement, the pressure contact by the ringlike member 2 is released, the lid body 3 is made openable by using the hinge connection with the ringlike member 2.
