In the case where the counter steer is being performed, assist torque is generated by the assist mechanism 4. The assist torque is the first prescribed torque regardless of the yaw rate and as the vehicle velocity becomes lower, the first prescribed torque becomes greater. The assist mechanism 4 applies the generated assist torque to a steering shaft.
