    • PURPOSE:To enable the quick and stable selection of four positions by securing the piston rod of a dual cylinder block to both a slider as a mounting base for a cutting tool and the like, and a slide bed. CONSTITUTION:A dual cylinder block 21 is laid within the housing recessed groove 22a of a slide bed 22 clear of the bed 22 and a slider 23 so coupled as to cover the recessed groove 22a. Cylinders 21a and 21b have pistons 24 and 25, and cylinder covers 26 and 26', and 27 and 27'. In order to interlock the operation of each piston, all cylinders are so designed as to have the same capacity. The cylinder cover 26 is retained with a feed oil sleeve 28 fixed to the slide bed 22, and the cylinder cover 26' at the opposite side of the cover 26 is retained with another feed oil sleeve 29 fixed to the slide bed 22. The cylinder cover 26 slides within the feed oil sleeve 28 and the cylinder cover 26' within the feed oil sleeve 29 together with the cylinder block 21, respectively by the same stroke.

    • PURPOSE:To enable execution of turning, milling, boring and the like by means of a machine tool being a type, in which a tool is mounted on a main spindle, without limitation of a work, by a method wherein a rotary shaft to support both ends of a work is mounted on a rotary main spindle, and turning is effected through movement of a table. CONSTITUTION:Under the state in which a work 16 is previously held, a tool grip groove 31 is gripped by a tool exchanging device to engage a taper part 25 of a rotary shaft 22 with a tool mounting hole 24a of a main spindle 24. When an engaging device 30 is engaged with a rotational lock block 29, a lever 30a is disengaged from the tool grip groove 31 against the force of a spring, a body 21 is secured on a main spindle head 13, and the rotary shaft 22 is rotatable freely from a body 21. With the rotary main spindle 24 rotated, the rotary shaft 22 is rotated, and the work 16 held by means of a chuck 26 and a support center 27 is rotated. A tool rest is mounted to a table and through axial movement of the main spindle head 13 and the table, turning of the work 16 is effected.
