    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal supply apparatus and a hot chamber die casting apparatus that enable aluminum to be formed into a hot chamber without using a goose neck and achieve molding with high productivity and reliability.SOLUTION: A molten metal supply apparatus includes: a retention furnace 2 which retains molten metal M of aluminum or aluminum alloy; a ceramic-made injection cylinder 3 which is installed in the molten metal substantially vertically while penetrating a bottom portion of the retention furnace, and has in a side face, a molten metal supply through hole into which the molten metal can flow; a ceramic-made injection plunger 4 fitted in the injection cylinder; a joint 5 which has an inflow opening connected to a lower end of the injection cylinder and an outflow opening for injecting the flown-in molten metal substantially in the horizontal direction through an L-shaped flow passage 5b; a nozzle portion 6 having in the inside, a molten metal passage 6a arranged substantially horizontally and having a base end connected to the outflow opening; and a stop valve 8 which is provided to a distal end of the nozzle portion and can open and close the molten metal passage, wherein parts of the joint portion, nozzle portion, and stop valve which come into contact with the molten metal are all made of ceramic.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To press molten metal inside a cylinder toward a mold while preventing air from entering the cylinder when a plunger is made to linearly reciprocate inside the cylinder.SOLUTION: In this machine, a bottom dead point of the plunger 6 inside the cylinder 2 is communicated with a molten metal inlet port 21 from a lower end edge of the plunger 6 along a peripheral surface to form a molten metal guiding groove 61 for guiding the molten metal to the inside of the cylinder 2. A driving mechanism 5 of the plunger also includes a rotation mechanism for rotating the plunger 6. When deriving the molten metal from the inside of the cylinder 2, the molten metal guiding groove 61 is directed to a direction which does not correspond to either a molten metal inlet port 21 or a molten metal outlet port 22 so as to press the molten metal inside the cylinder 2 before lowering the plunger 6. When guiding the molten metal into the cylinder 2, the molten metal guiding groove 61 is directed to a direction which corresponds to the molten metal inlet port 21 before driving the plunger 6, and the molten metal in a molten metal tank 1 is guided into the cylinder 2 through the molten metal guiding groove 61.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot chamber type die casting apparatus which can prevent the involvement of air upon casting.
      SOLUTION: The hot chamber type die casting apparatus 10 is composed of: a pot 14 storing the molten metal 12 of aluminum based metal; a main tubular part 16; an injection plunger 22; and a nozzle 40. In the main tubular part 16, a cylinder 16A and a goose neck 16B are connected at the bottom part side, and the molten metal 12 in the pot 14 is fed from a suction port 20 to the cylinder 16A. A groove 24 is formed at the side face 22A of the injection plunger so as to reach a position exceeding the upper edge of the main tubular part 16 from the bottom part 22B thereof in a state where the injection plunger 22 lies in an injection return position. After the completion of the casting, when the nozzle 40 is separated from a die 50, and the injection plunger 22 returns, even if the air sucked from the tip part 42 of the nozzle is left in the cylinder 16A, the air is exhausted along the groove 24, and the involvement of the air upon the following casting can be prevented.
