    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of a cathode ray tube display for preventing spot remainder.
      SOLUTION: The cathode ray tube display comprises a cathode ray tube 7 for performing operation for displaying an image: a microcomputer 1 for controlling the start and stop of the operation of the cathode ray tube 7 according to operation for turning on and off a power supply by a power key 11; and a white background display circuit 2 for allowing the cathode ray tube 7 to display a white background image. The white background display circuit 2 is connected to the microcomputer 1 for control by a data communication bus 10, and allows the cathode ray tube 7 to display the white background image when action indication data having content of white display are inputted from the microcomputer 1 for control. Then, by the operation for turning off the power supply, the operation of the cathode ray tube 7 is stopped after the microcomputer 1 for control outputs the action indication data to the white background display circuit 2 for allowing the cathode ray tube 7 to display the white background image.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient spot burning prevention circuit for a cathode- ray tube.
      SOLUTION: The circuit is provided with a power-off detecting means (a microcomputer 3) for detecting power-off of a display device using the cathode ray tube (CRT) 10. An AC magnetic field generating means (the microcomputer 3 and an AC voltage application circuit 4) for applying an AC voltage to a demagnetization coil 7 mounted on the CRT 10 for a prescribed time period, in response to a detecting result of the power-off detecting means (the microcomputer 3) to generate an AC magnetic field. Also, the AC magnetic field generating means (the microcomputer 3 and the circuit 4) applies an AC voltage to the coil 7 for a prescribed time period via a posister 5, after the lapse of a prescribed time after the power-off detecting means (a microcomputer 3) detects the power-off of the display device.

      SOLUTION: A circuit consisting of a first capacitor C1, a first resistor R1 and a first transistor Q1, and a circuit consisting of a second capacitor C2, a second resistor R2 and a second transistor Q2, are connected in parallel between a CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) grid 1 and a power supply line L1. Lamp voltage increasing gradually from 0 V is outputted from a signal line 2, and resistors R3, R4 and R5 are so set that the transistors Q1 and Q2 are turned ON at different timings. For example, when the transistor Q1 is turned ON first and then the transistor Q2 is turned ON, negative voltage having an absolute value two times the power supply voltage is applied to the CRT grid 1 at that time.
