    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overvoltage protection device where voltage of a power supply busbar is speedily dropped, a load device is protected against overvoltage, an abnormal power supply is detached and then power supply from a normal power supply to the load device can be resumed after stop for a short time when a fault that voltage becomes excessive occurs in one of a plurality of DC power supplies. SOLUTION: A device includes a voltage limiting means monitoring voltage of the busbar in a DC parallel power supply apparatus, shorting busbars of both polarities of a DC busbar through a limiting current means and dropping DC busbar voltage when overvoltage is detected, and an overvoltage discriminating means detecting respective currents flowing from a plurality of busbars with one polarity in the overvoltage protection means, discriminating the DC power supply where the overvoltage fault occurs from a mutual relation of both currents and outputting a command for interrupting a DC power supply where the fault occurs from the DC busbar to the DC power supply.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual voltage electrical system which supplies two kinds of voltages from a single alternator.
      SOLUTION: A dual voltage supply system supplies high and low voltage electrical power to separate high and low voltage loads. The system includes an AC alternator and first and second rectifier circuits, each being connected to the alternator and a corresponding high and low voltage load. The first rectifier circuit commutates the alternator voltage to the high voltage load, when the alternator voltage is higher than a voltage of the high voltage load. The second rectifier circuit commutates the alternator voltage to the low voltage load, when the alternator voltage is higher than the voltage of the low-voltage load and lower than the maximum voltage, which is less than the maximum voltage that can be tolerated by the low-voltage load(s). The second rectifier circuit will be turned off, whenever the first rectifier circuit is turned on.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in an arc welder provided with a plurality of main transformers arranged in parallel, when a difference arises in electric current flowing in the main transformers, the current flows biasedly to one side and a transformer bearing a larger load is burnt due to overloading.
      SOLUTION: In an arc welder, 1st and 2nd main transformers are arranged in parallel and connected to a commercial AC power source, 1st and 2nd power main circuits are connected to the secondary sides of the 1st and 2nd main transformers to rectify a secondary voltage and to conduct power control, a power control circuit controls an output of the 1st and 2nd power main circuits according to a set value of output current, and a DC reactor smoothes the output. In the arc welder, there are provided an electric current difference detecting circuit, which calculates a difference value of input current of the 1st and 2nd main transformers, and a warning circuit, which determining that a uniform state of the input current of the 1st and 2nd main transformers is collapsed when the calculated value is a reference value or more, stops the operation of the power control circuit, and which determining that the uniform state is kept when the calculated value is smaller than the reference value, actuates the operation of the power control circuit.
