SOLUTION: The jog dial device is provided with a rotatable first jog 5, a first rotation detection means 12 detecting the rotation of the first jog 5, a second jog 15 rotatably attached inside the first jog 5 and a second rotation detection means 16a detecting the rotation to the first jog 5 of the second jog 15 and the push (click). Then, the directions of the rotary shafts of the first jog 5 and the second jog 15 are made different for 90 degrees for instance. Thus, even when the number of the choices is large, an operation amount to the rotating body can be small. The establishment of selection is commanded by the push (click) of the second jog 15 and the operation including the selection and the establishment is easily performed.

When a movable contact 63 is slid relative to a fixed contact S3 to the ON/OFF switching position, the movable contact 63 starts to ride on the insulator parts 39 and 39A so that the movable contact 63 becomes non-contact away from the fixed point S3, and the movable contact 63 is allowed to move from the sliding surface 93 into the recessed parts 94 and 94A. When the movable contact 63 gets down the insulator parts 39 and 39A, the movable contact 63 comes into contact with the ON/OFF switching position of the fixed contact S3.

When the dial main body 2 is rotated CW, for example, the terminals 43 and 44 are first brought into contact with the contact sections 32, then the terminals 45 and 46 are brought into contact, and a signal A and a signal B are obtained in this order. When the dial main body 2 is rotated CCW, the signal B and the signal A are obtained in this order.
