    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a D/A converter free from hung up sound, capable of increasing the number of steps for equivalently varying the resistance value of feedback resistance without causing increase of a circuit scale. SOLUTION: As for a variable resistor circuit 236, in a 1-bit D/A converter with a 0 data detecting soft mute function, resistors R21 to R34 are serially connected, first analog switches SW21 to SW34 to be selectively turned on/off in accordance with an output signal, except for the LSB of a counter are provided at respective connecting points to constitute a first digitally controlled variable resistor, resistors R35, R36 are connected in parallel, a second analog switch SW36 to be controlled by the LSB of the counter is serially connected to a resistor on one side to constitute a second digitally controlled variable resistor, both of the first and second digitally controlled variable resistors are serially connected and a third analog switch SW35 is connected to both of the ends to constitute a feedback resistor. Then, a feedback resistance value is reduced step by step to finally turn on the third analog switch to shortcircuit.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive miniaturization of a variable resistor by a method wherein a fixed resistor laminated body is formed by laminating the fixed resistors of a plurality of unit resistors using the respective fixed resistor of a variable resistor as a thin film fixed resistor. CONSTITUTION:Thin film type fixed resistors 11 to 14 are formed by providing conductive thin films 11a to 14a as an electrode board on one side and conductive thin films 11b to 14b as an electrode board on the other side leaving intervals between them. Electric resistance thin films 11c to 14c are laminated on the above-mentioned pair of conductive thin films, and electric insulating thin films lid to 14d are laminated, as intermediate insulating layers or sheathing insulating layers, on the above-mentioned conductive thin films 11a to 14, 11b to 14b and electric resistance thin films 11c to 14c. Besides, these fixed resistors 11 to 14 are laminated successively on an insulated substrate la, and a fixed resistor laminated body 7 is formed. As a result, the occupation area of all the fixed resistors is made equal to the area of one fixed resistor, and a variable resistor can be made small in size.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to adjust and output automatically the combined resistant value of (n) pieces of fixed resistance elements by a method wherein the title generator is provided with a switching element consisting of a bipolar transistor or a field-effect transistor and (n) pieces of unit resistance selecting means, which respectively comprises each fixed resistance element. CONSTITUTION:In the case where more than one of unit resistance selecting means 11 are provided and the means 11 are series-connected and in the case where a switching element Ti is constituted of a bipolar transistor TrQ, the selective/ nonselective operation of a fixed resistance element Ri parallel-connected between a collector and an emitter of this TrQ can be performed. That is, when a control signal SWi=H level is inputted in a base of the transistor TrQ by a signal output means 12 on the basis of external set data Din, the TrQ is turned-ON and both ends of the element Ri is electrically short-circuited. Thereby, the equivalent resistance values of both ends of the element Ri become a resistance value dropped from the combined resistance value of fixed resistance elements R1 to Rn at the time of a signal SWi=L level. As a result, it becomes possible to perform the selective/ nonselective processing of (n) pieces of the series-connected fixed resistance elements R1 to Rn. Even if a FET is used instead of the TrQ, the similar operation can be performed.
