    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating indication light which successively emits light in every direction around and which can be manufactured inexpensively and small in size compared with a conventional rotating indication light of the same kind. SOLUTION: The rotating indication light A comprises: a substrate 1 whereon light emitting diodes 11 are arranged; a transparent rotating plate 2 arranged above the light emitting diodes 11 on the substrate 1; a motor 3 which is arranged below the substrate 1 and whose motor rotary shaft 32 is connected to the rotating center shaft section 21 of the transparent rotating plate 2; and a light reflecting member 4 which is supported by the transparent rotating plate 2 and reflects light from the light emitting diodes 11 passing upward through the transparent rotating plate 2 in a horizontal direction. The motor 3 can rotationally drive the transparent rotating plate 2 together with the light reflecting member 4 in a state in which the light emitting diode substrate 1 remains stationary.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an display unit for vehicles in which a sufficient display luminance can be obtained with a relatively small-scale light source by reducing the loss of the light emitted by the light source, a relatively inexpensive optical system can be used, without having to use a prismatic mirror as an optical system for scanning the light emitted by the light source, signal processing can be performed inexpensively, and degradation in the display quality due to vibration can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The display unit for vehicles is equipped with an LED array 1, a prism body 2 consisting of a transparent body, a motor 6 for rotating the prism body 2, a lighting pattern which corresponds to the lighting signal of the LED array 1 and is disposed on a timing plate 7, a photointerruptor 8, which reads the lighting pattern and converts the lighting pattern to a lighting timing signal, a timing signal generating section 41, and a display image control circuit 43 which controls lighting/non-lighting of light-emitting elements, made to synchronize with the lighting timing of the prism body 2 by the image information to be displayed.
