    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide range-finding binoculars which can measure a distance to an object and is made compact without impairing basic functions of binoculars such as focus adjustment and visibility adjustment.
      SOLUTION: The range-finding binoculars include: a pair of optical systems having an eyepiece, an objective and an erecting prism comprising a first prism and a second prism; a beam splitter having a beam splitting surface and arranged between the first prism and the second prism; a light-emitting part for emitting a laser beam to the object; a light-receiving part on which the laser beam reflected from the object is made incident; an arithmetic calculation means for calculating the distance to the object by making the laser beam incident on the light-receiving part; a measurement result display means for displaying a result calculated by the arithmetic calculation means; and a housing which incorporates the pair of optical systems, the beam splitter, the light-emitting part, the light-receiving part, the arithmetic calculation means and the measurement result display means.

    • PURPOSE:To make the operability of the titled apparatus excellent without extending the length of the light path of a collimation optical system, by forming a light path divider from a prism having obliquely provided translucent mirror surfaces and totally reflecting infrared rays by an incident surface while transmitting visible light. CONSTITUTION:A light path divider 6 having a dichroic mirror surface D reflecting infrared rays but transmitting visible light is arranged between an objective lens 1 and a focusing lens 2 and formed by adhering prisms P1, P2 at the oblique surface D. Infrared rays used in measuring a distance reflected by the obsurface D are totally reflected by an incident surface 6a and transmit an emitting surface 6c while visible light for collimation transmits an emitting surface 6b. A light source 10, transmission and receiving lenses 11, 12 and transmitted and received light reflective members 8, 9 form a distance measuring transmitting and receiving light path. Therefore, because the light path divider 6 for branching a distance measuring light path from a collimation light path is constituted of small prisms, the apparatus can be made compact and operability can be made excellent.
