    • PURPOSE:To shorten the period of time required for a bolt to retreat and come to a stop to feed a cartridge, and reduce the torque and the mean speed required for accelerating the bolt by releasing energy stored in a first elastic element and rotating a feed wheel intermittently. CONSTITUTION:When a cum drum 11 rotates to make a bolt 13 retreat by a specified amount and come to a stop at the final retreating position, a feed wheel 3 is freed from restraint in rotating motion by a connection releasing device 22 and enters a rotatable state. Thereby, the feed wheel 3 is intermittently rotated by the elastic restoring force of a first elastic element 6, so that a cartridge 15a received by the feed wheel 3 is sent to the loading preparatory position in front of the bolt 13. Therefore, as the cartridge 15a is quickly sent up to the loading preparatory position, the bolt 13 proceeds into the forward step after it retreats only a little and stops. Before the bolt 13 beings to move forward again and comes to the final retreating position, the connection releasing device 22 enters the state of restraining the feed wheel 3 from rotating.

    • PURPOSE:To close a bolt simply and surely, by a method wherein locking members movable radially are provided at the rear end part of a barrel, cams for pushing-in the locking members are formed on a cam ring, and a plurality of cam projections for rotating the cam ring are formed on a cam drum. CONSTITUTION:Locking members 10 freely movable in radial direction are provided at the rear end part of a barrel 1. A cam ring 9 with push cams 9b for pushing the locking members 10 inward is rotatably supported on the side of the barrel 1. Furthermore, a plurality of cam projections 8c, 8c' for intermittently rotating the cam ring 9 by engaging with toothed cams 9c are formed on a cam drum 8. When a bolt advances with the rotation of the cam drum 8 and stops, the first cam projection 8c rotates the cam ring 9 by fixed angles, the push cams 9b push the locking members 10 inward, and the locking members 10 lock the bolt in its closed condition. On the other hand, when the bolt retreats, the second cam projection 8c' rotates the cam ring 9 by fixed angles and the locking members 10 release the lock of the bolt.

    • PURPOSE:To easily supply an ammunition to a bolt and to easily discharge a vacant cartridge case by supporting to obliquely press the ammunition placed on a support cam by an ammunition feeding wheel by an ammunition retaining mechanism, and providing the bolt moving forward or reverse by a rotation of a cam drum. CONSTITUTION:A cam drum 52 formed with an endless cam groove 52a inclined to an axial center is disposed in parallel with a gun axis on a drumlike outer periphery, and a plurality of partial supporting cams 52b and 52c for supporting an ammunition 80 in cooperation with a bolt 26 are formed at a plurality of axial positions only while the drum 52 is rotated at a predetermined angle. The cams 52b and 52c are formed higher at rear side, and the bolt 26 is formed with an extractor collar 26a to be engaged with a collar 81 of the ammunition 80 at a rear end side. On the other hand, a machine gun body 16 has an ammunition retaining mechanism 32 which can press the ammunition 80 placed on the drum 52 to fluctuate forward an ammunition retaining member at the time of advancing the bolt 26 to push to remove the ammunition 80 to charge it in a barrel 10.
