摘要： An excavation cutting toolholder retention system. The cutting toolholder retention system includes a cutting toolholder having a flange recess and a holder engagement surface and a support block having a toolholder bore into which the cutting toolholder is inserted and a block pin bore intersecting the toolholder bore, the block pin bore defining a block engagement surface which is inclined downwardly relative to the toolholder bore. The cutting toolholder retention system further includes a pin having a pin shaft, the pin shaft having a pin flange which engages the flange recess so as to limit translational movement of the pin shaft. The pin engages the block engagement surface and the holder engagement surface such that the pin may be moved to draw the cutting toolholder into the toolholder bore.

摘要： An electrical power supply and liquid supply arrangement for a mining machine, particularly a longwall mining machine, wherein extended lengths of a power supply cable and liquid supply conduit are disposed within a housing structure extending along one side of the course of travel of the mining machine. A side arm on the mining machine extends through a slot in a face plate of the housing structure and carries at its outer end a junction box within which power cables leading from the mining machine can be connected to or disconnected from an external power cable. Clamped to the aforesaid junction box is the liquid supply conduit which can be selectively coupled to, or uncoupled from, a mating supply conduit leading to the interior of the mining machine. The arrangement permits connection or disconnection of the power supply and water supply members to or from the mining machine without any disassembly of the machine itself.

摘要： A device for preventing penetration of dust from the outside inwardly into an annular gap between a cutter arm of a cutting machine and a rotatable cutting head carried on said arm, said cutting head having an interior space containing lubricating oil, said device comprising a first seal closing off said interior space and located in said gap, a second seal located in said gap outwardly of said first seal, the grease flow resistance of said second seal in the outward direction being less than the grease flow resistance of said first seal in an inward direction, and a pressurized grease supply line arranged within said cutter arm opening into said gap at a location between said first and second seals whereby during operation of the cutting head grease flows outwardly through said gap and prevents entry of dust into said gap.
