    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel material having less discoloration due to ultraviolet light and shrinkage due to heat, and exhibiting a texture nearly infinitely close to that of the Japanese paper.
      SOLUTION: This panel material obtained by impregnating a sheet substrate material made of slurry containing basalt fibers and inorganic fibers with a thermosetting resin and hardened, is formed with a pattern of the Japanese paper by the sheet substrate material and the thermosetting resin. In the panel material, the basalt fiber is preferably contained in an amount of 15-65 mass% based on the total of the basalt fibers and inorganic fibers. The panel material is suitably used for an illuminating device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an yield of backing material, in a method of manufacturing a two-layer structure facing.
      SOLUTION: A process of manufacturing the two-layer structure facing 1 is constituted of a surface material preparation process 11 preparing a surface material 2, a backing material preparation process 21 preparing a backing material molded material 5, and a molding process 31 obtaining the two-layer structure facing 1 by laminating both the surface/backing materials molded. The backing material preparation process 21 is constituted of a paper-making process 22 making a short fiber and pulp material dispersedly mixed thereafter obtaining a paper-making sheet 4 formed by coating a binding agent dried and a winding process 23 obtaining the backing material molded material 5 formed by cutting the paper-making sheet 4 in a tape state annularly wound. In a molding process 31, the surface material 2 manufactured in the surface material preparation process 11 and the backing material molded material 5 manufactured in the backing material preparation process 21 are laminated and integrally heat molded while applying pressure, the two-layer structure facing 1 is manufactured.
