    • PURPOSE:The microorganism participating in the microbial reaction is selectively recovered from the drainage to increase the concentration of the microorganism participating the reaction. CONSTITUTION:The objective reaction system is provided with the microbial reactor 1 where the substrate is converted into useful substances utilizing the metabolic mechanism of the microorganism and the microorganism-recovering unit 9 equipped with a porous thin film with a number of pores through which the microorganism passes, the first and second chambers 17, 18, which are saparated with the above-stated thin film, and stirring means for beeping the liquid fed into the first and second chambers in turbulent flows. Thus, the reaction mixture containing the microorganisms and the substrate of high concentration is fed from the pipe 10 through the first chamber through pipe 11 into the microbial reactor 19 and the drainage formed by the reaction is fed from pipe 13 to the second chamber and the microorganisms 19 in the drainage are transferred by the difference in substrate concentration from the second chamber to the first one and recovered into the reaction mixture. The rest of the drainage is exhausted from pipe 14.
