摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polysaccharides by oxidizing polysaccharides with a combination of a ruthenium compound and a specific concentration of an oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: This objective polysaccharides (e.g.; tricarboxy starch) is obtained by oxidizing (A) polysaccharides, e.g.; a starch (a corn starch, a tapioca starch, etc.), with a combination of (B) a ruthenium compound (e.g.; ruthenium dioxide) and (C) >=15 wt.% oxidizing agent (e.g.; hypochloric acid) at preferably 0-100 deg.C in a solution of pH 1-13. In the above reaction, it is preferable to use approximately 0.5-10 fold mol component (C) to the component (A), and approximately 0.00001-1.0 fold mol component (B) to 1 mol constituting monosaccharide unit of the component (A). The objective polysaccharides have 1000-100,000 averaged molecular weight.

摘要： The invention relates to a process for the oxidation of starch, wherein a root or tuber starch comprising at least 95 wt. % of amylopectin, based on dry substance of the starch, is treated with an oxidizing agent and the resulting product is subjected to an alkaline treatment, said treatment comprising keeping the product for at least 15 minutes at a temperature of 20-50° C. and a pH higher than 10. SOLUTION: In the production of carboxy polysaccharide by oxidizing polysaccharide with a combination of a transition metal compound and an oxidizer, the reaction mixture after the oxidization is adjusted its pH to 1-6 before an inorganic carrier is used to adsorb and immobilize the transition metal whereby the transition metal is removed from the reaction mixture. In a preferred embodiment, the inorganic carrier is selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese oxide, samarium oxide, antimony oxide, silica- alumina, ceria-titania, zinc hydroxide and zirconium hydroxide.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the compound excellent in sequestering properties, biodegradability, etc., and desirable for use in a detergent by oxidizing a polysaccharide compound into a polycarboxylated polynrer and hydrolyzing this polymer with an alkali. CONSTITUTION:A polysaccharide compound such as starch, amylose, cellulose, inulin, ivory palm mannan, rice straw xylan, pectic acid or konjak mannan is oxidized with an oxidizing agent such as a hypochlorite or chromic acid into a polycarboxylated polymer. This polymer is hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions to effect selective hydrolysis of the acetal bonds and the consequent molecular weight reduction to form an oligomer compound having sequestering properties and biodegradability. A detergent containing this compound shows excellent detergency.
