    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored curable composition with which a cured film excellent in light resistance, heat resistance, and solvent resistance is formed, a color filter, a solid-state imaging element, a liquid crystal display, and an organic EL display, as well as a metal chelate pigment.SOLUTION: The coloree curable composition includes a polymerizable compound, a polymerization initiator, and a metal chelate pigment which satisfies at least three of (1)-(4). (1) An acid dissociation constant (25°C) of either an acid group when a pigment ligand has an acid group, or a protonic acid corresponding to a counter anion other than the pigment ligand is less than 3. (2) The pigment ligand has at least two or more branched-chain substituents. (3) When the pigment ligand is configured of a hydrocarbon aromatic ring or a heteroaromatic ring, the number of α hydrogens of the hydrocarbon group is one or less per one substituent, or when the pigment ligand includes an alkylene group other than a methacryloyl group, there is no hydrogen at an allyl position. (4) The pigment ligand has a fading preventing group in an atomic group which constitutes it.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily obtain maleimides used as an intermediate raw material for medicines and agricultural chemicals and useful as a raw material for various kinds of polymer compounds and a curing agent for rubbers by a simple operation. SOLUTION: An N-Carbnamoylmaleimide of formula I (R and R are each H, a halogen, a 1-10C alkyl or an aryl or R and R together form a cyclic substituent group by C-C bond) is subjected to decarbamoylation in the presence of a tertiary amine (e.g. triethylamine) in a solvent (e.g. ethyl acetate) at 60-150 deg.C to provide the objective maleimides of formula II. The resultant maleimide is separated from cyanuric acid obtained as a by-product by filtration and washed with water and the solvent is distilled away therefrom to provide the objective high-purity maleimide. In the method, decarbamoyl reaction is advanced even if a solvent except DMF difficult to isolate is used to isolate high-purity maleimide. The tertiary amine is used in an amount of 0.1-30wt.% based on the compound of formula I.
