    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventional paste fertilizers for lowland rice do not necessarily and sufficiently promote early transplanting of rice seedling and cause inhibition or retardation in growth of the rice plants after early transplanting.
      SOLUTION: The paste fertilizer for lowland rice (1) has a mass ratio AN/TN of 0.3-0.6, provided that AN and TN are amounts of ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen, respectively, described in an official specification for fertilizers, (2) has a mass ratio of sulfur powder (S) to TN of 0.03-1.50 and (3) contains at least 10 mass% TN and at least 8 mass% each and 30-40 mass% in total of phosphoric acid and potassium calculated as P

      5 and K
      2 O, respectively. Compared to the currently available ones, the paste fertilizer exerts superior effects, promoting initial growth and advancing heading date and maturing time.
