    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To wrap and pack an article to be packed, as tightly as possible without damaging wrapping paper and the article in a semi-automatic operation. SOLUTION: The machine has a center table 2, a pair of side tables 3 which are situated on both sides of the center table 2 at the limit of its ascent and horizontally move close to each other, a wide endless belt conveyor 7 which runs on the upper faces of the center table 2 and side tables 3 and is stretched via a tension mechanism, and a pressing member 10 which is situated above the center table 2 and whose lower-end face at the limit of its descent is horizontally almost on the same level as the lower-end face of the side table 3. With an article to be packed set above the center table 2 on wrapping paper A spread on the upper face of the belt conveyor 7 corresponding to the extent of the center table 2 and side tables 3, the article B to be packed is pushed down together with the wrapping paper A and belt conveyor 7 by means of the pressing member 10. Both the side tables 3 are horizontally moved close to each other at the limit of the descent of the pressing member 10, and both ends of the article B being packed are pressed together with the wrapping paper A and belt conveyor 7 by means of the lower faces of the pair of side tables 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent matters to be packaged from being damaged while making accommodative the packaging matters in diversified sizes by a method wherein a driving source for moving a pusher forward and a driving source for carrying cut packaging sheets along the supply surface are controlled separately. SOLUTION: For a packaging machine wherewith a long packaging film F is cut with a cutter unit 16 and supplied to the sheet supply surface with a side vacuum belt 24 and a matter B to be packaged is thrust into a packaging line 4 together with the packaging sheet with a pusher 30 moved forward, a feed roller 12, a driving pulley 26 of the side vacuum belt 24 and a driving pulley 38 of the pusher 30 are connected individually to servomotors 42, 44 and 46 that are installed separately. Thereby, the speed of forward movement of the pusher 30 can be controlled in two stages; one in a low speed for making the pusher 30 come into contact with the matter B to be packaged and another in a high speed for thrusting the matter to be packaged into the packaging line 4, and the packaging sheet can be supplied in a desired length.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fold a sheet of wrapping paper in a manner that it gets to fit a top face of an article having a recessed curved shape. SOLUTION: When a back end part of the wrapping paper is to be folded on a top face of an article 12 by a first folding member 57, an urging means 57e urges a top folding plate 57c and the back end part of the wrapping paper is pressed to the top face of the article 12 in such a manner that it gets to fit the top face of the article 12. One squeeze roller 59a pulls the back end part of the wrapping paper positioned on the top face of the article 12 to the front end side of the article 12 and other squeeze roller 59b pulls the head end part of the wrapping paper positioned on the top face of the article 12 to the back end side of the article 12. Further, a second folding member 59 descends and presses the article 12 so as to eliminate a slack of the article 12. Thus, packaging can be done without generating slacks.
