SOLUTION: A variable pitch propeller is provided with a propeller shaft 13 furnishing a screw 15 at the tip, a hub 17 to surround the outer periphery of the tip of the propeller shaft 13, propeller vanes 25 provided to plural positions in the peripheral direction of the hub 17 orthogonal to the propeller shaft 13, in which a propeller shaft 24 is installed rotatably to the hub 17, an eccentric arm 26 extending in the radial direction at the inner side end of the hub 17 of the propeller shaft 24, a variably slider 31 screwed to a screw part 15 inside the hub 17, an engaging member 33 furnishing the variably slider 31 to rotate the eccentric arm 26 by the movement of the variably slider 31 to the screw part 15, and return dampers 35a and 35b to move the variably slider 31 to near the middle part of the screw part 15 in the longitudinal direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a system by automatically meeting the wind direction, and automatically moving blade pitch backward by spring pressure without separate pitch control even in super-strong wind so as to prevent an overload on a power generator. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a streamlined drum rotatably installed on an upper end of a tower of prescribed height, a number of direction keys radially provided on an outer circumferential surface of the drum in such a way that the direction of the drum coincides with the wind direction, a horizontal shaft rotatably and horizontally installed on the drum, with one end part protruded outward at a rear end part of the drum, the other end part positioned inside the drum, and a first bevel gear provided at the other end part, the blade installed at one end part of the horizontal shaft backward of the drum through a changing means to be movable forward and backward in accordance with wind pressure to be rotated by the wind while rotating the horizontal shaft, the generator installed in the tower, and a second bevel gear provided at one end part to be engaged with the first bevel gear for transmitting torque of the horizontal shaft to the power generator.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold the angle of propeller blades even with an oil leakage in a hydraulic system of a blade angle changing device in a turning type marine vessel propulsion device. SOLUTION: The marine vessel propulsion device has a turning cylinder 1, a vertical driving shaft 2, a propeller shaft 3, propeller blades 6, a cylinder 14 and a piston 15 for setting the angle of the propeller blades 6, pipelines 9, 10 for supplying the cylinder 14 with oil pressure, and a cross head 17 for converting the linear motion of the piston 15 into rotation for setting the angle of the blades 6. The pipelines 9, 10 are connected to a pump 7 on the marine vessel side through a solenoid valve 8. Oil feeding cylinders 11, 12 serving as oil delivery mechanism from a fixed part to a rotating part are provided at the intermediate parts of the pipelines 9, 10. Inside the turning cylinder 1, a pilot check valve 20 is provided at the pipeline between the oil feeding cylinder 12 and the cylinder 14. Even when hydraulic oil is not fed due to an oil leakage from the seal part or the like of the oil feeding cylinder, pressure in the cylinder is maintained to hold the position of the piston by the check valve function of the pilot check valve 20, so that the angle of the propeller blades 6 can be held without fluctuating.

    • PURPOSE: To save the power by providing a reciprocating support rod with a perpendicular oar blade on one end at a crank arm top pin of a crank shaft arranged at right angles against an advancing direction for rotating by a motive power or a manual crank.
      CONSTITUTION: A motive power is transmitted to a crank shaft 3A via a transmission belt 14 for ratation. As a crank arm 4A and a crank pin 5A are rotated as an arrow A, the support rod 6A is slided and moved to the left as an arrow C, and an oar blade 7 is pushed into water B as perpendicularly kept for rowing to propel a hull 1A. Then, when a manual handle 16 is rotated, a crank shaft 3B, a crank arm 4B, and crank pin 5B as the arrow A, a lever arm 12 and a lever pin 13 as the arrow C, and a support rod 6B as an arrow D, are shifted by transmission, and consequently, the oar blade 7 scrapes water as perpendicularly kept for rowing to propel a hull 1B. The oar blade 7 is pushed into and brought out from water B as kept perpendicularly erected. This construction permits to reduce the resistance and save the required power.
