    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an inner ring difference and improve natural turning performance having a sense of unity and stability by towing a front steering shaft type trailer by a tractor, detecting the forward and backward traveling direction of the tractor to switch a transmission system of a transmitting member, and converting the steering direction of the trailer to the steering direction of the tractor. SOLUTION: A lunette eye 12 of a towing lever 3 is connected to a pintle hook 4 of a tractor through a joint and a bracket 11 which are projected from a trailer to move vertically and laterally. A intersecting angle of the towing lever 3 and the trailer is detected by a steering amount detecting arm 13, and an amount of this motion is transmitted through a link lever 14, a forward-reverse steering direction switching mechanism 9, and the respective transmission means 16-20 following a connecting rod 15 to a steering wheel 6 to be steered. That is, the steering direction switching mechanism 9 is operated in the reverse direction by an electromagnetic solenoid 8 so that at the time of forward movement, the steering wheel 6 of the trailer is steered according to the steering direction of the tractor, and at the time of reverse movement, the steering wheel 6 of the trailer is steered in the opposite direction to the steering direction of the tractor.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination-vehicle relative angle detection system and a method for the system of a simple and low-cost structure, insusceptible to pitching and rolling.
      SOLUTION: A turning angle detector 10 for generating detection signals according to its turning angle is disposed with its axis of rotation aligned with that of a coupler 3 connecting a tractor 1 to a trailer 2. Arms 11A and 11B are arranged with their one end connected to the associated side of the turning angle detector 10 and the other inserted for sliding motion in an associated slide type mounting tool 12A or 12B attached to a mount 8 set on the tractor 1. When the tractor 1 makes a turn of θ to the trailer 2, the arms 11A and 11B turn the turning angle detector 10 by the angle θ so that it detects the relative angle between the tractor 1 and the trailer 2. The sliding connection between the arms 11A and 11b and the mount 8 prevents rolling or pitching during tractor-trailer travel from influencing the turning angle detection.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the minimum turning radius furthermore, and to realize a small sharp turn, by reducing the size difference (so-called widening) between the outermost turning radius (a turning radius of a wheel of the front wheel shaft of a trailer) and the innermost turning radius (a turning radius of the wheel of the rear wheel shaft of the trailer), even though the longest shaft-to- shaft distance between a front wheel shaft of a tractor and a rear wheel shaft of a trailer is same as the conventional vehicles. SOLUTION: In a trailer 1 in which the front side of a chassis 2 is supported rotatable around a vertical shaft to a tractor 3 through a coupler 4, and the rear side of the chassis 2 is supported to wheels 5, a support mechanism 20 to support the wheels 5 rotatable around a vertical shaft P to the chassis 2; a turning positioning mechanism 30 to position the wheels 5 at an adequate position as well as to turn the wheels 5; and a lock mechanism 40 to lock the wheels 5 at a turning neutral position allowable to unlock; are provided, and the 'widening' to be the size difference between the outermost turning radius and the innermost turning radius is reduced by rotating the wheels 5 in a turning operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a tractor, circulating in the same direction, to tow a head carriage even in case of disposing a plurality of carriages in series on the same endless travel path without providing special equipment. SOLUTION: Tractor width and height are so set that longitudinal projection shape formed of a body and traveling wheels can pass carriage under-space, partitioned by both width direction side wheels of carriages 51,... and the lower faces of the carriages, along a travel path. A tractor is provided with a front carriage detecting means 3 for detecting the presence of the front carriage 51,..., a traction pin 4 protruded/retreated vertically so as to change its position between a connecting position and a retreat position, a changing motor for driving to change the position of the traction pin 4, and a traveling motor. When the front carriage detecting means 3 detects the presence of the front carriage, the traveling motor is once stopped only for the set time, and the traction pin 4 is changed into the retreat position from the connecting position. After the lapse of the first set time, the tractor is made travel again, and after the lapse of the second set time from the stop time, the traction pin 4 is restored into the connecting position to connect the tractor to the front carriage.

    • PURPOSE: To minimize the harmonic distortion by dividing a filtered product by a function of a filtered square to generate a demodulation output sample. CONSTITUTION: Multipliers 26, 24 and 22 generate products S0 , S0 S1 , and S1 respectively, and the value S0 S1 from a data latch 30 is connected to a divided input connection line of a divider 40 through a low pass filter 34, and values S1 and S0 are alternately connected to a divider input connection line of the divider 40 through a multiplexer 36 and a low pass filter 38. The multiplexer 36 connects the value S0 to the divider 40 during a period t3 and connects the value S1 to the divider 40 during a period t4 . During the period t3 , the divider 40 generates a quotient (S0 S1 /S0 )LP to be inputted to a data latch 44 in response to a signal P1 ; and during the period t4 , the multiplexer 36 generates a quotient (S0 S1 /S1 )LP to be inputted to a data latch 42 in response to a signal P2 . Values in latches 42 and 44 are supplied to input terminals of an adder 46 which generates the sum of S0 S1 /S1 +S0 S1 /S1 during a period t5 . Thus, the harmonic distortion is prevented.
