    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon cassette capable of preventing double jumping-out of an ink ribbon and large fluctuation of tensile force of the ink ribbon.SOLUTION: An ink ribbon cassette includes, in a casing including a cassette case and a cassette cover, at least a ribbon storage part and a ribbon driving part for circulating the ink ribbon, and has the following features (A) to (E): (A) exit walls are formed on both sides of the ribbon exit part of the ribbon storage part; (B) the exit walls form a space in a height direction in the cassette; (C) the ribbon storage part has a first bank and a second bank, and the first bank is disposed at a position nearer to the exit walls than the second bank; (D) the first bank and the second bank are arranged over the side wall of the printer head side of the ribbon storage part and the longer exit wall; and (E) the first bank and the second bank extend from positions facing the cassette case and the cassette cover.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless ink ribbon cassette which has a mechanical fuse which is more hard to be broken than a positive rotation, even if the power of reverse rotation is applied due to a printing apparatus and user's operational errors.SOLUTION: The ribbon cassette of the printing apparatus includes a power transmission means 5 in which an engaging part 7 which is detachably provided in a ribbon take-up gear 3 and engaged to a ribbon drive shaft 31 of the printing apparatus; a first connection part 8a which transmits powers of positive/reverse both directions to the ribbon traveling of the printing apparatus to the ribbon take-up gear 3; and a second connection part 8b which transmits power only to the reverse direction. When the power transmission means 5 performs positive rotation, and when the ribbon take-up gear 3 stops rotation due to ribbon lock, the first connection part 8a is destroyed and power transmission between the power transmission means 5 and the ribbon take-up gear 3 becomes impossible. When the power transmission means 5 performs reverse rotation, even if the load corresponding to the ribbon lock is applied to the ribbon take-up gear 3, the connection part is difficult to be destroyed compared with a positive rotation by the action of the second connection part 8b.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a point that, in a ribbon cassette that is mounted on a dot impact printer and used, an ink ribbon cannot be promptly sent from surroundings of an entrance part in the housing toward the outlet, and the ink ribbon, overcrowded by the periphery of the entrance part and becoming massive causes the trouble in traveling with a high possibility.SOLUTION: The ribbon cassette includes: a housing 2 which includes a lid part 2B and a body part 2A; a storage part 3 which is formed in the housing 2 and partitioned with wall surfaces 3a and 3b in order to store the ink ribbons R; and a drive member 4 provided at a return part of the ink ribbon R of the storage 3. At the return part of the ink ribbon at the inner surfaces of the wall surfaces that constitutes the storage 3, catching preventing ribs 3Aa, 3Ba, 3Ab, and 3Bb are formed, which prevent the ink ribbon R caught by the driving member 4 by promoting the ink ribbon R that has passed between the opposing drive members 4 to move to a sending part from the return part of the storage 3.
