    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable plane having a shaving discharge mechanism which hardly causes plugging of shavings in the shaving discharge pass.
SOLUTION: Installation of a partition member 15 which cuts shavings 12 planed by the blade 7 into sizes smaller than the diameter L3 of the shaving discharge outlet 11 at the shaving inlet 13 of the body 2 prevents the shavings 12 from being plugged in the shaving discharge pass 10 and the shaving discharge outlet 11 and allows a smooth planing work.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts for fixing a plane iron tip and, at the same time, simplify the adjustment of the projecting amount of the plane iron tip. SOLUTION: A plane iron holding-down member 10 is made of an integral structural steel block equipped with a bottom surface 15 having a projecting part 13 engaging with the recessed part 11 formed on the top surface of a plane iron tip 5, an upright surface 17 provided at the back end of the bottom surface 15, a fixing screw inserting hole 21, which passes through the bottom surface 15 and in which a fixing screw 19 can be inserted and a positionally adjusting screw inserting hole 25, which passes through the upright surface 17 and in which a positionally adjusting screw 23 can be inserted. On the upright surface 17 of the plane iron holding-down member 10, a coiled screw for energizing the plane iron tip 5 toward a direction so as to project from a drum 7 is installed. By clamping the fixing screw 19 under the state, in which the projecting amount of the planer iron tip 5 is adjusted through the screwing-in amount of the positionally adjusting screw 23, the plane iron tip 5 is fixed to the recess 9 of the drum 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable cutting of a projecting or recessed curved surface of timber as well as a flat surface thereof by providing means for fixing elevatable copying plates and actuating means which bring the lower edge parts of the copying plates into contact with a cutting surface of the timber by actuation under the condition of cancellation of the fixation. SOLUTION: When fixation of copying plates by copying plate fixing means 46 is canceled, plate edge parts thereof are projected by actuation downward from a rear-side case 6 and an elevating case 24 of an equipment main body 1. When the lower edge parts of the copying plates 43 are pressed on a cutting surface S of timber T in this state, the attitude of the lower edge parts is so varied as to copy after the cutting surface S of the timber T to be cut, against the actuating force of the actuating means 44, irrespective of whether the cutting surface is a flat surface or a projecting or recessed curved surface. When the copying plates 43 are fixed herein by the copying plate fixing means 46, a virtual base surface along the cutting surface S is formed. By regulating the height of the elevating case 24 in conformity with a cutting margin and by sliding cutting equipment back and forth along the cutting surface, plane finishing can be performed mechanically by a plane iron 17 of a rotary cutting tool 15.
