    • PURPOSE:To easily measure a shape of a groove formed in a three-dimensional shape model surface in a profile control system for copying a shape of a groove. CONSTITUTION:A tracer head 7 comprises a stylus 71 having a size which allow the stylus to slide in a groove 72 formed in a surface of a model 72 in such a condition that it is received loads in three axial directions. Displacement detecting means 73 detects a displacement value of the stylus 71a. Displacement vector computing means 74 computes a displacement vector of the stylus in accordance with thus detected displacement value. Movement control means 75 displaces the position of the tracer head 71 so that the displacement vector always has a predetermined value. Position detecting means 76 detects the present position of the tracer head 71. Data generating means 77 creates digitizing data in accordance with the present position of the tracer head 71 and the displacement value of the stylus.

    • PURPOSE:To improve accuracy for copy machining by obtaining the predetermined amount in proportion to the change of a speed instruction value, and providing a shift control means for moving only a model using the obtained value as a position instruction value. CONSTITUTION:A sub-table 38 for placing only a model 33 is provided on the main table of a copying machine tool, and shifted in the same direction as the shift of a main table with a shift control means by an amount in proportion to the change of a speed instruction value, for example, the delayed amount of a servo system. As a result, a tracer head 31 moves always ahead of a cutter 34, and when an axis speed drops due to the collision of the tracer head 31 with a corner part, the sub-table 38 returns by an amount corresponding to the aforesaid seed drop. The aforesaid return amount corresponds to the bite amount of the tracer head 31 in the axial direction concerned. The shift amount of the cutter 34, therefore, is reduced by the aforesaid bite amount, compared with the tracer head 31, thereby enabling the prevention of the bite of the cutter 34.

    • PURPOSE:To avoid the interference of a model with a tracer head by correcting the axial displacements of two shafts other than a rotary shaft on the basis of the rotational angle of tracer head to control copying by the use of the corrected displacements of respective shafts. CONSTITUTION:A tracer head TC is constituted to be rotated in the rotational direction of a rotary shaft parallel to a shaft for constituting no copying plane, for example Y axis, and the tracer head TC is rotated not to interfere with a model MDL when a stylus ST copies a recess HL having vertical slant portions SL. A rotational angle beta in the rotational direction is monitored and the axial displacements epsilonx, epsilonz of two shafts (X, Z axes) other than the rotary shaft are corrected on the basis of the rotational angle beta to control copying by the use of the corrected displacement of each shaft. Thus, even model configuration having irregular portions interfering with the tracer head can be copied without any interference.
