摘要： PURPOSE:To extend a filtering time, by a method wherein the lower end of a long fiber bundle having a specific length are fixed to the upper part of the support horizontally provided in a filter and a raw liquid is allowed to flow from the upper end set to a free end of the long fiber bundle to the lower end thereof to collect the suspended substance in the raw liquid by the gap parts of the long fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A support 2 is horizontally provided or packed in a filter tower 1 and the lower end of a long fiber bundle 3 being aggregate of untwisted monofilaments having a length of 1,000-3,000mm and a thickness of 80mum or less is fixed to the upper part of the support 2 and the upper end thereof is set to a free end to erect the long fiber bundle in the filter tower. When a raw liquid is passed through the long fiber bundle in a falling stream from the upper end of said fiber bundle to the lower end thereof, the long fiber bundle is compressed toward the support 2 while the erected state thereof is held and the packing density of the long fiber bundle is set to such a value that the erecting height of the fiber bundle becomes 80% or less of that before the raw liquid is passed (25-110kg/m on a dry wt. basis) and the suspended substances in the raw liquid are caught by the gap parts of the long bundle. As a result, a filtering time can be extended as compared with a conventional one.
